Facebook Ads reporting: connect the numbers to a decision

A Facebook Ads report should explain what happened, what remains uncertain and what you will check next. Keep the Meta attribution setting visible, separate campaign results from business totals, and compare like-for-like periods.

Write the reporting contract first

Record the selected ad account, date range, timezone, currency, campaign objective and attribution setting. Choose the outcome that matters to this report. A reach campaign and a sales campaign should not be judged by the same single number.

In Adlane, connect Meta and select the ad account that belongs to this business. Ask a bounded question such as “Compare the last two complete weeks for this campaign using the same attribution window.” Availability depends on your Meta access and the fields returned by the provider.

Keep a compact report with useful context

Use this outline for a weekly review. Blank fields are a reason to investigate; they should not silently become zeros.

Example: two providers can claim the same order

Illustrative example: Meta attributes eight purchases and Google Ads attributes five. The store records ten orders. The advertising reports are not evidence of thirteen unique orders: different attribution methods can credit overlapping journeys.

Keep each platform report intact and reconcile business orders separately. If you use analytics as another view, record its source, consent coverage and attribution model. A discrepancy is a question to investigate, not a number to hide.

Move from report to a reviewable action

If costs rise, inspect the outcome definition, delivery and recent creative or landing-page changes before proposing a budget adjustment. Separate observations from explanations: “cost per enquiry increased” is observed; “the audience is tired of this ad” needs additional evidence.

Adlane keeps proposed changes tied to the selected account and business. Review the current setting, proposed action and uncertainty before approval. An attractive report is only useful if it changes a decision responsibly.

Reuse the question next week

Save one question, one proposed action and one review date. Include the business result you want to inspect, such as qualified enquiries, rather than only engagement with the ad.

Adlane is an independent product and is not affiliated with Meta. It does not promise better campaign performance or complete access to every reporting field.
